About WellSpring Naturopathic Health Services

WellSpring helps summer days be healthy!

Dr. Palka returned to her home state to begin her practice of naturopathic medicine.  She established WellSpring Naturopathic Health Services to offer new choices and hope to adults looking to improve their overall state of health.

In the State of Michigan, however, there is no naturopathic licensure at this time. This affects both Dr. Palka and the individuals who seek her assistance. For Dr. Palka, she is legally unable to practice medicine and utilize the full extent of her training. For people seeking naturopathic care, the burden falls to them to verify the training of their health care advisor. Naturopathic doctors and many other health practitioners draw from the philosophy of naturopathy to educate people and promote health. The difference lies in their education and training. While there are many excellent training programs in herbal medicine, homeopathy and other forms of alternative medicine, they are very different from naturopathic medical training.  Without licensure, anyone can call him or herself an ND regardless of level of training, experience or competence. It is up to each person to be certain their health care advisors have training adequate to address their individual concerns.

Until Michigan licenses NDs, WellSpring Naturopathic Health Services will serve the community by promoting wellness practices, providing education on health and wellness topics and using natural therapies.
